Water management is one of the most critical functions aboard a submarine. Every dive, surfacing operation, trim adjustment, and buoyancy correction depends on knowing exactly how much water is present in various tanks. Unlike surface ships, submarines continuously alter the amount of water they carry to maintain neutral buoyancy, depth, and stability.
